Psychology Contractor (Independent/Contract Psychologist)

Kilmore Medical Practice is an eleven-consultation room medical practice that has been providing care for its community since 2010. The medical clinic provides general practice, osteopathy, psychology, audiology, and dietitian services to the Kilmore and surrounding community. We are seeking a psychologist to join our team on a contract basis to provide psychological services to our patients.

Position Summary

• Position title: Psychologist.

• Position type: Independent contractor / sessional.

• Patient intake avenues: The practitioner will receive a constant stream of referrals from our 5 full-time working GPs. The services will be advertised on the clinic’s physical outdoor sign and the clinic’s website.

• Hours/Sessions: Patients will be booked on a weekly basis between Monday and Saturday (per psychologist availability). With progression, the psychologist can increase their number of workdays as per their availability.

• Billing Rate: The clinic is currently bulk billing psychology services; however, private fees may be charged at the discretion of the practitioner.

Role Purpose

Provide psychological assessment and treatment to patients referred through the practice, working collaboratively with GPs and other allied health professionals to support integrated patient care.

Key Responsibilities

- The clinic staff will be responsible for managing:

• Scheduling.

• Inputting and sending referrals.

• Faxing reports.

• Billing.

The practitioner will be responsible for:

• Providing psychological care.

• Liaising with referring GPs, providing reports/updates, etc.

Essential Qualifications & Requirements

• Registration as a Psychologist with AHPRA.

• Current Medicare provider number.

• Own professional indemnity insurance.

• Current Working with Children Check / Police Check.

• Relevant contractor's insurance / ABN for invoicing.

• CPD compliant with AHPRA/Board requirements.

Contract Terms

• Engagement basis: Independent contractor agreement (not employment) - contractor invoices the practice / bills patients directly per arrangement.

• Fee structure: 60% of psychology billing.

• Room/facilities provided: Consulting room, reception/admin support.

• Contract duration: Ongoing.

• Kilmore medical practice aims to establish a solid foundation for providing psychological care.

• As the practitioner establishes their reputation in the region, they can adjust their work schedule as per demand and their availability.

Pay: $90.00 – $150.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5.0 – 15.0 per week
