Psychology Program Head

The Program Head for Psychology serves as the primary academic and administrative leader of the BS Psychology program of Southwestern University PHINMA. This role is responsible for driving curriculum excellence, ensuring regulatory and CHED compliance, managing faculty performance, and fostering a supportive learning environment for Psychology students.

Qualifications:

• Completed Master's degree in Psychology
• Active PRC license as a Registered Psychometrician and/or Psychologist
• Ongoing or completed Doctorate degree is strongly preferred
• At least 3 years of teaching experience in higher education
• At least 1–2 years of experience in administrative or academic leadership
• Proven expertise in research, curriculum design, and licensure exam preparation

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the continuous development, evaluation, and alignment of the BS Psychology program in accordance with CHED policies, standards, and guidelines.
• Plan and schedule departmental course offerings, faculty load assignments, and subject distribution each semester.
• Promote faculty professional development, research output, and compliance with institutional policies.
• Design, implement, and monitor board review and enhancement programs for the Psychometrician Licensure Examination (PmLE) to maintain high institutional passing rates.
• Facilitate academic-industry partnerships, clinical/industrial internship placements, and community extension programs for psychology students.
• Oversee the ethics review for Psychology research projects, ensuring strict adherence to PAP and national ethical standards.
