Pub Assistant Manager

We're looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Manager to join our leadership team and help drive excellent service, strong team culture, and commercial success.

The Role

As Assistant Manager, you will work closely with the General Manager to oversee the day-to-day operation of the pub, ensuring every guest receives an outstanding experience. You'll lead from the front, inspire the team, and play a key role in delivering operational excellence across both food and beverage service.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the General Manager in the daily operation of the pub
• Lead, motivate and develop the front-of-house team
• Deliver exceptional customer service and guest experiences
• Manage shifts effectively, ensuring smooth service and high standards
• Assist with recruitment, training and team development
• Monitor labour costs and drive productivity
• Ensure compliance with licensing, health & safety, and food safety regulations
• Handle customer feedback professionally and proactively
• Support stock control, ordering, and cash management procedures
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation, and operational excellence throughout the venue

About You

• Previous experience as an Assistant Manager, Duty Manager, Supervisor or Team Leader within hospitality
• Passionate about food, drink and delivering memorable guest experiences
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities
• Commercially aware with a proactive problem-solving mindset
• Comfortable managing busy service periods in a fast-paced environment
• Personal Licence holder preferred, but not essential
• Flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays
