About the Opportunity

Union Pubs & Bars is seeking an experienced, motivated and commercially minded pub operator to take responsibility for a traditional village public house in Heptonstall, near Hebden Bridge.

The premises are fully equipped and offer an excellent opportunity for an experienced operator to establish and develop a successful local business.

We are looking for someone who understands the licensed trade, enjoys building relationships with customers and can take ownership of the day-to-day operation.

The Role

Responsibilities will include:

• Managing the day-to-day operation of the public house
• Driving sales and developing local trade
• Recruiting, managing and motivating staff where required
• Maintaining excellent standards of customer service
• Managing stock, cellar operations and stock control
• Ensuring compliance with licensing, health and safety and other statutory requirements
• Developing promotions, events and activities to increase turnover
• Working closely with Union Pubs & Bars to maximise business performance

About You

The successful applicant must:

• Have proven experience managing or operating a public house
• Hold a valid Personal Licence
• Have strong commercial and financial awareness
• Be confident managing staff, stock and customer relationships
• Be self-motivated and capable of working independently
• Live locally or within a reasonable commuting distance, as no accommodation is available
• Be available to commence within a relatively short timescale
