Pub Manager – Chester City Centre

We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Pub Manager to take responsibility for the day-to-day operation and development of a licensed hospitality business in Chester city centre.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager who wants the freedom to develop the business and directly benefit from increasing turnover.

The business has significant potential to develop food sales, student trade, hotel guest business, live sport, entertainment and events.

The Opportunity

The manager receives an agreed percentage of weekly turnover, providing strong earning potential as sales grow.

We provide:

• All wet and dry stock
• Utility and property costs
• EPOS and card payment facilities
• Fully equipped trading premises
• Operational support

Your focus will be on running the business, managing the team and driving sales.

Developing the Business

We are particularly looking for someone who can:

• Engage with Chester's large student community
• Develop student nights, promotions and events
• Establish and grow a consistent food service
• Engage with guests staying in the on-site hotel
• Develop food and drink sales from hotel guests
• Grow live sport and entertainment trade
• Introduce regular events, quizzes and promotions
• Build relationships within the local community
• Effectively use social media to drive footfall
• Identify and develop new revenue opportunities

The Role

You will be responsible for:

• Overall day-to-day management
• Recruiting, managing and motivating the team
• Delivering excellent customer service
• Driving sales and promotions
• Developing the food operation
• Stock and cash control
• Maintaining excellent operating standards
• Licensing and regulatory compliance

What We're Looking For

Previous pub management experience is essential.

Applicants must also hold a current Personal Licence.

We're looking for someone who is hands-on, commercially minded, customer focused and enthusiastic about developing a business rather than simply maintaining existing trade.
