Pub Manager

Job Summary

The Tailgate Sports Pub is seeking an experienced, organized, and guest-focused Pub Manager to oversee daily pub operations and help create a welcoming, energetic environment for guests. The ideal candidate will lead the hospitality team, coordinate food and beverage service, maintain quality and safety standards, support staff development, and help ensure smooth operations during busy service periods and sporting events.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily pub operations, service, and guest-facing activities.
• Lead, support, and supervise front-of-house and bar team members.
• Maintain high standards of guest service, cleanliness, hospitality, and presentation.
• Monitor bar and dining room operations during regular service and busy event periods.
• Assist with resolving guest requests, concerns, and service issues professionally.
• Train, coach, and support new and existing team members.
• Assist with staff scheduling, shift assignments, and daily staffing needs.
• Communicate daily priorities, service expectations, and operational updates to the team.
• Coordinate closely with kitchen and bar staff to maintain efficient service.
• Monitor beverage quality, food service, presentation, and portion standards.
• Oversee POS procedures, cash handling, and payment processes.
• Assist with inventory, ordering, receiving, and organization of food, beverages, and supplies.
• Monitor liquor, beer, wine, food, and other inventory levels as applicable.
• Help ensure responsible alcohol-service practices and applicable workplace procedures are followed.
• Maintain clean, safe, and organized bar, dining, and guest areas.
• Assist with opening, closing, and shift-change procedures.
• Support sporting events, promotions, private functions, and other pub activities.
• Monitor equipment and facility concerns and communicate maintenance needs to management.
• Help manage busy periods while maintaining service quality and team efficiency.
• Perform additional management and operational duties assigned by company leadership.

Requirements

• Previous pub, bar, restaurant, hospitality, or food-service management experience is preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Guest-focused and professional approach to hospitality.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with POS systems, cash handling, and restaurant operations.
• Ability to train, motivate, and support team members.
• Knowledge of responsible alcohol-service practices is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and service standards.
• Reliable attendance and professional work ethic.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and sporting events.

Preferred Skills

• Pub manager, bar manager, assistant manager, or restaurant manager experience.
• Food and beverage management experience.
• Experience overseeing busy bar and dining operations.

• Staff training and scheduling experience.

• Knowledge of POS and restaurant management systems.

Pay: $25.00 - $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 36.0 per week
