Pub Manager

Here at The Star we are looking for an talented and experienced manager to help with the day to day running of a busy local Pub.

We are an award winning real ale and family pub and hotel that prides itself on our range of drinks and excellent customer service.

The current owner has been running the pub to a high standard for nearly 13 years, during which time we have become known for our top quality ale selection, fantastic pizzas and burgers and massive beer garden area.

As a manager your duties will include:

• Being responsible for the pub during your shifts including managing the bar and kitchen alongside your manager.
• Ensuring each customer is offered the highest level of customer service.
• helping to manage a team of staff effectively and efficiently on every shift, ensuring all jobs are completed.
• Being responsible for training, motivating and offering support to more junior members of the team
• Using social media on a daily basis to advertise and attract customers.
• Being organised, hard working and have a strong focus on guest and customer requirements.
• Having a good knowledge of the drinks served including cask ales, lagers, ciders, soft drinks and various spirits.
• Working with other managers to ensure the pub is run smoothly which may include taking on responsibilities such as staff scheduling, ordering, and organising both private and public events.
• Counting and checking tills accurately.
• Making sure the pub is kept clean and in good condition, as well as enforcing health and safety guidelines.
• Experience working in a cellar with both cask ale and keg beers and ciders is preferable.

What we are looking for in a candidate

• A great and energetic personality, being able to lead a team of staff
• Innovative, approachable and have the ability to quickly build a strong rapport with guests and customers.
• Previous bar supervisor/management experience within a busy environment.
• Has previous experience in at least some of the following areas: staff scheduling and training, cellar management, stock control and ordering, event organisation and social media.

Pay: £27,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
