Valiant Pub Company is looking for an experienced Pub Operator to take on the historic Talbot Arms in Settle, following a full refurbishment.

Dating back to 1642 and believed to be the oldest pub in Settle, the Talbot Arms occupies a fantastic High Street location just off the market square. With a strong local customer base and year-round visitors to the Yorkshire Dales, this is an exciting opportunity to develop a high-performing food and drink business.

The Opportunity

The Talbot Arms will be a quality, food-led pub serving classic pub dishes alongside a strong drinks offer, including cask ale.

Operator Package

The successful operator will receive 30% of net takings, providing significant earnings potential as sales grow.

Valiant Pub Company covers the main costs of operating the business, allowing you to focus on running and developing the pub. The operator is responsible for their own staffing costs and council tax.

You will also receive ongoing support from Valiant Pub Company, including commercial and operational support from your dedicated Business Development Manager.

Who We're Looking For

We are looking for a hands-on, commercially minded operator who can build a strong team and establish the Talbot Arms as one of Settle's standout pubs.

You should ideally have:

• Previous pub, restaurant or hospitality management experience
• Experience running a quality food operation
• Strong people and team leadership skills
• Good commercial awareness
• A passion for excellent customer service
• The ability to engage with the local community and build repeat trade
• The drive to maximise sales across food, drink and the outdoor trading areas
