Public Accountant

An early-career accounting professional who is interested in developing a career in public accounting and audit and can effectively contribute to audit engagements while building their technical knowledge and client service skills.

The ideal candidate has:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting
• Internship, academic, or professional experience related to accounting or auditing
• Interest in pursuing a career in public accounting
• Strong understanding of accounting fundamentals
• Interest in developing knowledge of auditing standards and financial reporting requirements
• Experience performing accounting-related analysis, reconciliations, or testing

Candidate should have exposure to:

• Basic audit methodologies and testing procedures
• Financial statement auditing
• Compliance audits
• Accounting principles and financial reporting
• GAAP fundamentals
• Financial statement preparation
• Audit documentation and workpapers
• Risk assessment concepts
• Account reconciliations and financial analysis
• Microsoft Excel for financial analysis, reconciliations, and audit work
• Accounting and audit software, such as CaseWare, CCH, or similar platforms
