What they need
Account Supervisor, Public Relations
The Power Group
Dallas, TX (Hybrid – Tues/Weds in office each week)
5-8 years of PR experience preferred
Are you an experienced PR professional ready to lead accounts, grow people, and shape stories that move markets? At The Power Group, we believe in the power of relationships, bold ideas, and meaningful results. We are an award-winning Dallas PR and digital agency that helps brands earn trust through strategy, storytelling, and integrity, and we live by three values: Do the Right Thing. Win Together. Create Connection and Joy. We are looking for a driven Account Supervisor to join our team.
What You’ll Do
You will keep your accounts moving and your team sharp. This is the seat where craft becomes leadership: you are still writing, editing, and pitching, but you are also assigning the work, reviewing it, and developing the people doing it. You will own day-to-day execution across a diverse portfolio of B2B and B2C brands while stepping into your first formal people management responsibilities.
- Manage day-to-day activity across assigned accounts, owning timelines, deliverables, meeting agendas, recaps, trackers, and next steps so nothing stalls and nothing slips.
- Serve as a regular client contact across multiple industries (restaurants, franchising, financial services, commercial real estate, and more), bringing tactical recommendations and project management clients can count on.
- Review and edit the team’s pitches, press releases, media and influencer lists, reports, and client-facing materials, using your edits to teach rather than simply to fix.
- Assign tasks, track progress, and ensure deadlines are clearly communicated and met, guiding Senior Account Executives, Account Executives, and Coordinators on writing, pitching, research, and execution.
- Begin formal people management, including employee feedback, review input, coaching, and leadership development, and supervise our PR interns and intern program.
- Monitor account hours, scope, workload, and team capacity, escalating concerns early and with a recommended solution rather than after the fact.
- Stay hands-on with client planning, campaign execution, media strategy, influencer outreach, and event logistics, and support new business through research, drafting, case studies, and presentation materials.
What You’ll Bring
- 5-8 years of PR or communications experience, including prior agency experience (required).
- Proven ability to lead integrated PR campaigns across both B2B and B2C sectors, from planning through execution and reporting.
- Exceptional writing, communication, and presentation skills; you know how to make complex stories clear, compelling, and relevant. You are a master of AP Style, and you can edit others to that same standard.
- A track record of earning coverage: strong pitch instincts, real media relationships, and persistent, professional follow-up.
- Early people leadership experience, or clear readiness for it. You give specific feedback, you coach rather than correct, and you want to grow the people around you.
- Comfort managing the business side of an account: hours, scope, workload, and capacity, with the judgment to flag issues before they become problems.
- A collaborative spirit, a desire to make an impact, and genuine passion for people and purpose.
What Success Looks Like
We define success clearly. Every role at The Power Group has a documented set of competencies and behaviors, so from day one you will know exactly what skilled looks like in this seat and what the path to Senior Account Supervisor requires.
Within 90 days, you have taken ownership of the day-to-day rhythm on your accounts, earned trust with clients and your team, and your reviews are catching issues before they reach senior leadership. Within 6 months, you are running multiple accounts on time and on scope, the people you guide are visibly growing, client KPIs are being met, and you are contributing to agency strategy, growth, and culture.
