The role

As PR and Communications Officer, you'll play a key role in shaping, building and delivering Gatehouse Bank’s external communications strategy. You'll coordinate campaigns, business updates and editorial content to raise Gatehouse Bank’s profile externally, working to protect and promote the Bank’s reputation.

What you'll be doing

• Develop and deliver PR and communications campaigns across press, social media, website and thought leadership channels
• Build journalist and media relationships, developing proactive plans to raise the Bank’s profile and brand awareness.
• Advise stakeholders on external communications, media engagement and reputation management
• Create and schedule social media content aligned with the Bank’s brand, marketing objectives and communications strategy
• Build journalist and media relationships, developing proactive pitches to enhance the Bank’s profile and brand awareness
• Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging issues, drafting reactive statements and maintaining accurate, consistent messaging to support reputation management
• Prepare spokespeople for media engagements, events and speaking opportunities through briefing materials and message development. Attend media briefings and coordinate media training alongside the Communications Manager and Head of Marketing and Communications
• Produce monthly and ad hoc PR, social media and public affairs reports, using analytics to measure performance and identify improvements
• Use Canva to create graphics and supporting materials for PR and social media activity

What we're looking for

• Experience managing social media platforms such as LinkedIn, Facebook and Instagram
• An organised, self motivated individual, with attention to detail
• Strong writing, editing and proofreading capabilities
• Previous experience using Canva
• Confidence - dealing with external and internal stakeholders, showing discretion and professionalism

Please note - the position is office based with a Hybrid Working policy with flexibility to work from home up to 3 days a week.
