Public Relations Manager

Role Description

We are seeking a strategic, articulate, and relationship-focused Public Relations Manager to develop and manage communication strategies that strengthen organisational reputation, public visibility, and stakeholder relationships. The role will be responsible for planning and coordinating public relations activities across media, digital, corporate, and external communication channels.

Key responsibilities include developing PR strategies and communication plans, preparing press releases, media statements, speeches, announcements, and other corporate communications. The Public Relations Manager will coordinate media engagement, respond to media enquiries, support interviews and events, and maintain effective relationships with journalists, media organisations, industry partners, and other relevant stakeholders.

The role will monitor media coverage, public sentiment, industry developments, and emerging issues to identify communication opportunities and potential reputational risks. It will also support crisis and issues management, develop appropriate communication responses, track PR performance, and prepare reports and recommendations for relevant stakeholders.

The Public Relations Manager will work closely with marketing, leadership, internal teams, external agencies, and other partners to ensure consistent messaging and a strong public presence. The role will contribute to thought leadership, corporate reputation, brand positioning, and continuous improvement of communication strategies.

Qualifications

• Degree or relevant qualification in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Media, Business, or a related discipline.
• Strong understanding of public relations principles, media relations, corporate communications, and reputation management.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong editing, storytelling, and presentation abilities.
• Ability to develop clear communication strategies, PR plans, key messages, press materials, and stakeholder communications.
• Strong media relations and stakeholder engagement skills with professional communication abilities.
• Excellent judgement, analytical thinking, and problem-solving skills, particularly when handling sensitive or high-profile communications.
• Knowledge of media monitoring, public sentiment analysis, digital communications, and PR measurement tools.
• Understanding of crisis communications, issues management, and reputation risk is desirable.
• Strong organisational and project management skills with the ability to coordinate multiple communication initiatives and deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders, internal teams, media representatives, agencies, and external partners.
• High level of professionalism, discretion, attention to detail, and ethical awareness.
• Strong understanding of brand messaging and the ability to maintain consistent communications across multiple channels.
• Proactive, adaptable, confident, and results-oriented approach to public relations and stakeholder communications.
