Public Relations Manager

Affordable housing is a complex story to tell.

It involves families, communities, local partners, government, investors and an industry that does not always speak the same language.

Lhoopa is looking for a hands-on PR Manager who can turn real work happening across the business into clear, credible stories—and make sure the campaigns, events and stakeholder programmes behind those stories are delivered well and on time.

This is a role for someone who can move comfortably between writing a press release, developing a story angle, coordinating a site visit, preparing an executive and keeping several teams accountable to one timeline.

What you’ll own

• Plan and execute PR programmes around company milestones, partnerships, launches, projects and reputation-building opportunities.
• Find strong story angles from our homeowners, brokers, local partners, projects, operations and leadership.
• Write and edit press releases, media pitches, executive briefs, Q&As, fact sheets, scripts, talking points, stakeholder updates and post-event reports.
• Support executive thought leadership through articles, speeches, keynote inputs, bylines and LinkedIn content.
• Build productive relationships with journalists, editors, industry groups and community stakeholders.
• Lead press briefings, launches, site visits, stakeholder engagements and external activations from planning through post-event reporting.
• Manage workback plans, budgets, suppliers, speakers, guest lists, approvals and run-of-show requirements.
• Maintain an integrated communications calendar and keep owners, decisions and deadlines visible.
• Support communications involving government, communities, investors, industry associations and business partners.
• Monitor media coverage and emerging issues, and help prepare response materials when needed.

You could be a strong fit if you have

• At least five to seven years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, stakeholder engagement, editorial work, events or agency account management.
• A strong portfolio covering press releases, media pitches, articles, speeches, executive content, scripts or stakeholder materials.
• The ability to interview subject-matter experts, find the real story and turn incomplete information into clear and accurate communications.
• Experience managing complex events or multi-stakeholder projects from concept through execution.
• Strong project discipline and the confidence to follow up, surface risks and hold people to agreed deadlines.
• Professional presence when working with executives, journalists, government representatives and external partners.
• Exposure to public affairs, investor communications, crisis communications or reputation management is an advantage.
• Real estate or housing experience is helpful, but not required.
