Public Service Worker

Beavercreek Township's Public Service Department maintains 42.279 miles of Township-owned roadways, 72 Township-owned vehicles, and 5 Township-owned fire stations, the Township Government Center, the Public Service Department buildings, the Beavercreek Library, and Beaver Cemetery.

An applicant for Public Service Worker must meet the following minimum requirements.

• High school diploma or GED
• Valid Ohio driver’s license
• Ability to obtain/maintain Commercial Driver’s License (CDL)
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely
• Basic knowledge of road maintenance and construction practices
• Ability to lift 50–100 pounds regularly
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to work outdoors in extreme temperatures and weather conditions
• Ability to work extended hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays during snow events and other emergencies
• Pass a background check and pre-employment physical and drug/alcohol screening

Under the supervision of the Public Service Director and Road Section Leader, the Service Worker I is an entry-level manual labor position that assists with the maintenance and operation of township infrastructure, including roads, drainage systems, public properties, and equipment.
