Public Works Project Manager

I am working with a well-established engineering consultancy that is looking to appoint a Public Works Project Manager to support its continued growth in the Houston market.

The position will involve managing a varied portfolio of municipal infrastructure projects, including water, wastewater, drainage, utility, MUD and land development assignments.

Salary: $125,000-$175,000 depending on experience

Job Specifications:

• Manage public infrastructure projects from planning and design through construction
• Deliver municipal utility, MUD, water, wastewater, drainage and development-related projects
• Establish project scope, schedules, budgets and delivery requirements
• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineers, designers and technical staff
• Maintain relationships with municipal clients, utility districts and other public agencies
• Review plans, specifications, engineering reports and cost estimates
• Coordinate permitting, bidding and construction-phase services
• Assist with proposals, presentations and business-development activities
• Mentor junior staff and support the development of the local team

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Texas Professional Engineer license
• Experience managing public works or municipal infrastructure projects
• Knowledge of water, wastewater, drainage, utilities or land development
• Previous experience working with municipalities or municipal utility districts
• Strong project-management and client facing capabilities
• Ability to manage multiple projects and multidisciplinary teams
• Existing knowledge of the Greater Houston market would be beneficial
