Public Works Supervisor

General Statement of Duties Performs administrative, supervisory and technical work in the operation and maintenance of the city public works departments. Supervises all city employees except those in the finance office and recreation programs. Performs related works as required. Works under general guidance and direction of the City Council. Exercises supervision over operations and related personnel, including permanent and temporary personnel. Administrative Duties∙ Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.

∙ Assist Finance Officer with budget planning, and grant searches and applications.

∙ Develop and maintain a Safety Manual and ensure that all safety procedures are followed.∙ Devise work schedule for department personnel and summer maintenance employees.Operations

∙ Manages and maintains the City’s Public Works Departments, including Street, Water, Wastewater, Rubble Site, Solid Waste Removal, Parks, Swimming Pool, Cleanup Campaigns, Equipment Maintenance and Building Maintenance.

∙ Investigates and addresses all complaints regarding the above city departmental functions and takes corrective action, if necessary, in handling the complaints and reports all complaints to the City Council.Qualifications and Education Requirements

Additional Notes Residency Requirement: This position has been defined as essential to the operation of the city and therefore, residency must be within the city limits within 6 months.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
