Reports to: Publishing Lead
About the Role
We're looking for a Publishing Manager to support the Publishing Lead in the publishing and live operations of a football game in China.
You'll act as the operational bridge between Publishing and our Development, Operations, and Marketing teams — tracking progress and product cadence, facilitating daily alignment, and keeping information and priorities synchronized so key milestones land on time.
Beyond execution, this role requires a product lens : understanding how version cadence, the real-world football calendar, and business goals connect — and translating that into clear follow-ups and a steady operating rhythm that supports the Lead's decisions.
What You'll Do
- Track publishing and live ops progress — monitor milestones and version nodes, and flag slippage to the Lead.
- Facilitate daily alignment — run and support daily/weekly cross-team syncs, capture notes and action items, and drive follow-ups to closure.
- Bridge teams — keep information and priorities aligned across Publishing, Development, Operations, Marketing, and Community.
- Analyze operational data — surface daily insights that inform the Lead's publishing and operational decisions.
- Apply user research — capture player needs and behavioral shifts, and keep the Lead informed of changes in user and market demand.
- Build the publishing plan — shape version cadence around the real-world football calendar, major tournaments, and key moments.
- Report status — consolidate progress, risks, and blockers for the Lead and management.
- Coordinate across time zones and languages — primarily EN/CN, with Korean as needed, to reduce collaboration friction.
What We're Looking For
Must-have:
- Genuine football passion — real understanding of major competitions, clubs, and player ecosystems, and genuine interest in football culture.
- Games industry grounding — hands-on operations or game-design experience (publishing, live ops, game design, etc.).
- Note: candidates with purely marketing backgrounds are not a fit — we need someone grounded in product, operations, or design.
- Working English proficiency — able to read, write, and communicate in meetings.
- User-research mindset — able to capture user needs and trends, and read shifts in user and market demand.
- Strong cross-functional communication — project coordination and multi-thread execution.
- Self-driven in a supporting capacity — able to track progress, surface risks, and push follow-ups to closure proactively.
Nice-to-have:
- Korean language proficiency.
