What they need

About 7D Team

7D Team is a growing Australian engineering and manufacturing business specialising in pump components, rebuilds, overhauls and engineered improvements for the mining and mineral processing industries. From our well-equipped workshop in Cockburn Central, we combine hands-on pump expertise with research and development to deliver reliable, high-quality outcomes for our clients.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced, trade-qualified Pump Fitter to join our workshop team on a permanent full-time basis. This is a specialist role focused on the overhaul, repair and precision assembly of pumps of all types and sizes. Working closely with our engineering and quality assurance team, you will contribute to both customer pump work and the development of new components and prototype builds.

Please note: this is a workshop-based pump fitting position. It is not a mobile plant, shutdown, FIFO, hydraulic or general fixed-plant fitter role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Overhaul and repair pumps of all types and sizes, including API, slurry, horizontal multistage, split case and back pull-out pumps
  • Strip, inspect and assess pumps and rotating equipment, identifying wear, failure modes and replacement component requirements
  • Rebuild and assemble pumps to specification and tight tolerances
  • Carry out precision fitting, alignment and dimensional measurement using metrology tools
  • Accurately record inspection findings and measurements
  • Test pumps and prepare them for dispatch, including paint finishing
  • Support prototype builds and continuous improvement of pump designs and components
  • Safely operate a forklift to move and load pumps and components
  • Work safely at all times, follow company procedures and maintain a clean, organised workshop

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • A trade qualification as a Mechanical Fitter (Certificate III or equivalent)
  • Proven hands-on experience overhauling and repairing pumps of all types and sizes, including API, slurry, horizontal multistage, split case and back pull-out pumps
  • A strong understanding of rotating equipment and precision assembly
  • The ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and specifications
  • Competence with precision measuring equipment, including micrometers and dial indicators
  • A current forklift licence (High Risk Work Licence – LF class)
  • A strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
  • The ability to obtain a satisfactory National Police Clearance
  • Full Australian working rights

You will be a reliable, well-organised tradesperson who takes pride in quality workmanship and works well as part of a small, close-knit team.

What We Offer

  • $60–$65 per hour plus superannuation, negotiable based on experience
  • Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
  • A permanent full-time position with long-term stability
  • A workshop-based role with no FIFO, shutdowns or site rotations
  • Varied, hands-on pump work, including overhauls, rebuilds and engineered upgrades
  • Involvement in research and development, prototype builds and continuous improvement
  • A clean, organised workshop with quality tooling and equipment
  • A small, experienced team where your pump knowledge is valued and your input is heard

How to Apply

Click Apply and submit your resume along with a short cover letter outlining:

  1. Your pump fitting experience, including the types of pumps you have worked on
  2. A pump rebuild or rotating equipment project you are particularly proud of

Applications close Sunday 15 November 2026.

Pre-employment checks, including verification of your forklift licence and a National Police Clearance, will form part of the recruitment process. Only applicants with full Australian working rights will be considered.

7D Team is an equal opportunity employer. We welcome applications from all suitably qualified candidates and select on capability, attitude and teamwork.
