Punch Press Operator /setup

Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Punch Press Operator /setup person to also help in the day to day operations to joinour manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for operating and setting up punch presses to produce precision metal components according to technical specifications. Your expertise in machine operation, tooling setup, and quality measurement will ensure efficient production processes and top-quality output. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a dynamic manufacturing environment where safety, accuracy, and craftsmanship are paramount.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate various punch presses, including stamping presses and forming machines, ensuring proper tooling and die alignment for each job.
• Interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and shop math to accurately produce parts that meet specifications.
• Utilize CNC programming skillsto modify or create machine programs for efficient production runs.
• Conduct precision measurements using measuring instruments and quality inspection tools to verify part dimensions and adherence to quality standards.
• Maintain safety standards in production by following safety protocols, inspecting equipment for hazards, and ensuring a safe working environment.
• Perform routine maintenance on punch presses and related machinery to ensure optimal operation and minimize downtime.
• Collaborate with team members on machine setup adjustments, troubleshooting issues, and continuous process improvements.

Skills

• Proficiency in machine operation of punch presses, CNC laser cutting, CNC milling machines, CNC lathe, plasma cutting, and other sheet metal fabrication equipment.
• Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints and technical drawings accurately.
• Skilled in the use of measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, and other precision measurement tools for quality control.
• Familiarity with shop math principles necessary for machining calculations and measurements.
• Ability to operate hand tools safely and efficiently within a manufacturing setting.
• Understanding of safety standards in production environments and adherence to safety protocols at all times.
• Mechanical aptitude combined with problem-solving skills for troubleshooting machine issues quickly.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing workflows including assembly processes and quality inspection procedures.
