Summary
Fleetwood High School is a successful and oversubscribed 11-16 comprehensive school serving Fleetwood, Thornton-Cleveleys and the wider Fylde Coast.
We are proud to be known as "the school with a heart in the town with a heart". Our HEART values are at the centre of everything we do and reflect our commitment to high expectations, strong relationships and achievement through personal best.
We believe every young person deserves the opportunity to succeed, regardless of the barriers they may face. We are committed to creating an inclusive environment where all pupils feel safe, valued, supported and challenged to achieve their full potential.
The Opportunity
We are seeking to appoint an exceptional Pupil Support Worker (Behaviour & Inclusion) to work across the whole school, including our Lighthouse Centre.
This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled, resilient and compassionate practitioner to make a genuine difference to the lives of young people. The successful candidate will work with pupils whose behaviour, attendance, social, emotional or mental health needs may present barriers to learning and success.
Working collaboratively with senior leaders, teachers, pastoral staff, families and external agencies, you will play a key role in ensuring that vulnerable pupils receive the support, guidance and intervention they need to thrive both academically and personally.
You will build positive relationships with pupils, provide targeted intervention and mentoring, and help young people develop the confidence, resilience and behaviours that will enable them to engage successfully with school life.
This is a challenging but highly rewarding role, offering the opportunity to improve outcomes and life chances for some of our most vulnerable young people.
The Role Will Include:
Supporting the calm, orderly and purposeful running of the school.
Working directly with pupils to improve behaviour, attendance, engagement and wellbeing.
Delivering one-to-one and small-group interventions.
Supporting pupils to develop resilience, emotional regulation, confidence and positive learning behaviours.
Working with pupils who require additional support within both the Lighthouse Centre and mainstream school.
Developing, implementing and reviewing personalised intervention and support plans.
Working closely with parents, carers and external agencies to ensure joined-up support.
Maintaining accurate and confidential records of interventions, actions and outcomes.
Supporting pupils to successfully reintegrate into learning and school life following difficulties or periods of absence.
Acting as a positive advocate and champion for Fleetwood High School's young people.
We can offer you:
The opportunity to make a lasting difference to the lives of young people.
A welcoming, supportive and values-driven school community.
A varied and rewarding role working across both mainstream provision and the Lighthouse Centre.
A strong commitment to professional development and career progression.
Free on-site parking.
Access to our free staff meals scheme.
Please note that in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education 2026, an online search will be carried out as part of our due diligence on shortlisted candidates.
Please note CVs are not accepted, to apply for this vacancy you need to complete the application form attached.
This position is part time, term time only, please note the salary quoted is full time equivalent. If successful, the salary received will be paid on a pro rata basis.
