Purchase Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

1. Handle purchase activities for foundry raw materials, consumables, spares and maintenance items.
2. Prepare and process Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO) and purchase documents.
3. Obtain quotations from suppliers and prepare comparative statements.
4. Coordinate with suppliers for price, delivery, quality and payment terms.
5. Follow up on pending orders and ensure timely material delivery.
6. Coordinate with Stores, Production, Maintenance, Quality and Accounts departments for material requirements.
7. Maintain supplier records, purchase data and related documentation.
8. Monitor stock levels and material requirements to avoid shortages and excess inventory.
9. Assist in sourcing alternate suppliers and developing new vendors.
10. Support cost reduction and price negotiation activities.
11. Verify supplier invoices against PO, GRN and received materials.
12. Maintain proper records of POs, quotations, approvals and supplier communications.
13. Support supplier performance monitoring related to delivery, quality and service.
14. Follow company purchase procedures and ensure timely closure of purchase requirements.
15. Prepare regular purchase status and pending order reports.
