Purchase Engineer

Role & responsibilities

The Buyer / Procurement Executive is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing materials, goods, and services required for company operations. The role ensures timely availability of quality materials at optimal cost while maintaining strong vendor relationships and compliance with company policies.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end procurement activities for materials, equipment, and services
• Identify and evaluate suppliers based on quality, price, delivery, and reliability
• Prepare and issue Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), and follow-ups
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors
• Track order status to ensure timely delivery and resolve supply issues
• Coordinate with stores, finance, engineering, and project teams
• Ensure compliance with procurement policies and approval processes
• Maintain vendor database and procurement records
• Verify invoices against POs and delivery challans
• Support cost reduction and supplier development initiatives

Educational Qualification

• Graduate / Diploma in Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field
