Purchase Engineer

Key Responsibilities

• Handle daily purchase activities for production, engineering, maintenance, and office requirements.
• Identify and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Obtain and compare quotations from multiple suppliers.
• Negotiate price, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions.
• Prepare and release Purchase Orders (POs).
• Follow up with suppliers for timely delivery of materials.
• Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Stores, Quality, and Accounts departments.
• Maintain purchase records, quotations, POs, invoices, and vendor documents.
• Monitor pending purchase orders and prepare regular purchase follow-up reports.
• Verify material specifications, quantity, delivery terms, and required documentation.
• Support vendor evaluation and supplier performance monitoring.
• Resolve issues related to delayed deliveries, shortages, wrong materials, and quality complaints.
• Assist in developing alternate suppliers for critical and frequently required materials.
• Maintain proper documentation as per company procedures.
• Support cost reduction and procurement improvement initiatives.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of purchase and procurement processes.
• Strong vendor negotiation and communication skills.
• Knowledge of MS Excel and ERP/purchase software.
• Good follow-up and coordination skills.
• Ability to understand basic engineering/material requirements.
• Good analytical and problem-solving ability.
• Strong documentation and record-keeping skills.

Preferred Experience

Experience in machinery manufacturing, engineering, fabrication, CNC, packaging machinery, or industrial equipment will be preferred.

Qualification

B.Com / BBA / Diploma / BE / B.Tech or equivalent qualification.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹25,000.00 per month
