Purchase Executive

Key Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and instrumentation spares.
• Understand maintenance requirements, technical specifications, BOMs and drawings before sourcing.
• Identify, develop and evaluate reliable vendors for MRO requirements.
• Prepare RFQs, comparative statements and Purchase Orders (POs); obtain quotations and negotiate pricing.
• Ensure timely availability of critical and breakdown-related maintenance spares.
• Coordinate with Maintenance, Stores, Production, Finance and Quality teams.
• Monitor pending orders, delivery schedules and supplier performance.
• Maintain optimum stock levels and support inventory control to minimize excess/obsolete inventory.
• Handle vendor negotiations, cost reduction and supplier development activities.
• Maintain procurement records, vendor data and reports using SAP/ERP and MS Excel.
• Ensure purchased materials meet required quality and technical specifications.

Required Skills

• Maintenance Purchase / MRO Procurement / Engineering Purchase.
• Strong practical knowledge of maintenance spare parts procurement.
• Manufacturing, engineering, foundry or heavy-industry experience preferred.
• Strong vendor development, negotiation and follow-up skills.
• SAP MM / ERP Purchase knowledge preferred.
• Good working knowledge of MS Excel.
• Ability to understand technical specifications, drawings and maintenance requirements.
• Strong communication, coordination and analytical skills.
• Ability to handle urgent procurement requirements effectively.
