Purchase Executive

Key Responsibilities

• Handle core/direct material procurement as per production requirements.
• Source and develop reliable suppliers for raw materials, components, and production materials.
• Obtain quotations, compare prices, and negotiate with suppliers.
• Prepare and release Purchase Orders (PO).
• Follow up with vendors to ensure on-time delivery of materials.
• Coordinate with Production, Stores, PPC, Quality and Accounts teams for material requirements.
• Monitor material availability and take action on shortages or delays.
• Evaluate vendor performance based on cost, quality and delivery.
• Identify alternate suppliers and support cost reduction initiatives.
• Maintain purchase records, supplier details, quotations and PO documentation.
• Handle purchase-related activities through SAP / ERP systems.
• Ensure procurement is done as per company policies and approved specifications.

Required Skills

• Core Purchase / Procurement experience in a manufacturing industry.
• Good knowledge of Raw Material / Direct Material Purchase.
• Vendor development and supplier management.
• Strong price and commercial negotiation skills.
• Knowledge of PO, quotation comparison and delivery follow-up.
• Good coordination and communication skills.
• Knowledge of SAP / ERP is preferred.
