Job Summary

We are looking for a Purchase Engineer / Executive with 2–5 years of experience specifically in the plastic manufacturing industry. The candidate will be responsible for sourcing, vendor management, negotiation, procurement of engineering/maintenance materials, and ensuring timely availability of materials required for smooth plant operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle end-to-end purchase activities for the manufacturing plant.
• Source and procure engineering spares, electrical items, mechanical components, consumables, maintenance materials and production-related requirements.
• Identify, evaluate and develop reliable vendors and suppliers.
• Obtain and compare quotations from multiple vendors.
• Negotiate price, quality, delivery timelines and payment terms with suppliers.
• Generate and process Purchase Orders (POs) and follow up with vendors for timely delivery.
• Coordinate with Production, Maintenance, Stores, Engineering and Accounts teams for material requirements.
• Monitor inventory and ensure timely procurement to avoid stock-outs or production delays.
• Verify material specifications and coordinate with the concerned technical team where required.
• Track pending orders, deliveries and vendor commitments.
• Maintain proper purchase records, vendor documentation and procurement reports.
• Handle vendor complaints, quality issues, shortages and replacement of defective materials.
• Develop alternative vendors and negotiate for cost optimization.
• Ensure purchases are made as per company specifications, approved budgets and timelines.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of relevant purchase/procurement experience in the plastic manufacturing industry is mandatory.
• Diploma / Graduate in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Good knowledge of engineering, electrical and mechanical items/spares.
• Experience in vendor development, quotation comparison and price negotiation.
• Good understanding of purchase processes and inventory requirements.
• Good communication and coordination skills.
• Should be comfortable working in a manufacturing/plant environment.
• Must be willing to work 10–12 hour shifts
• Candidates should be immediately available for interview.
• Immediate joiners / candidates with short notice period will be preferred.
