Purchase Executive

.Position Summary:

The role is responsible for executing day-to-day procurement and sourcing activities to ensure timely availability of quality raw materials, components, and services in line with production requirements. It involves vendor coordination, cost comparison, purchase order management, and tracking material deliveries while maintaining accurate SAP records. The position also supports cost optimization initiatives, supplier development, and preparation of procurement reports to enable smooth operations and effective decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end sourcing and procurement of raw materials, components, and services, including contract negotiation to secure optimal cost, quality, and delivery terms.
• Lead, mentor, and build a high-performing procurement team, driving accountability, capability building, and continuous professional development.
• Partner closely with manufacturing and production teams to ensure seamless operations, accurate production scheduling, and timely material availability aligned with demand forecasts.
• Establish and nurture strategic, long-term relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
• Drive cost optimization initiatives through price benchmarking, value analysis, and effective negotiation with existing and new suppliers.
• Identify and develop alternative local sourcing options for imported materials to achieve cost efficiencies and supply continuity.
• Possess strong domain knowledge of sheet metal fabrication, castings, bought-out components, and electrical items.
• Prioritize, monitor, and review departmental activities to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
• Generate and present insightful procurement and material utilization reports for senior management decision-making.
• Demonstrate strong hands-on experience in SAP for procurement planning, tracking, and reporting.

Requirement:

• 5-8 years relevant experience in procurement/purchase within an engineering, capital equipment, or pharma machinery manufacturing setup.
• Working knowledge of SAP/MM module for purchase transactions, material tracking, and MIS reporting.
• Exposure to identifying and developing alternate/local suppliers to reduce cost and dependency on imports.
• Familiarity with documentation, compliance requirements, and maintaining procurement records and reports for management review.
• Having work exposure in Pharma Machine Manufacturing will be an advantage
• Strong analytical and cost-evaluation skills with attention to detail.
• Effective vendor coordination, negotiation, and relationship management abilities.
