Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Purchase Executive to join our chemical manufacturing company. The candidate will be responsible for procuring raw materials, chemicals, solvents, packaging materials, and other production-related items while ensuring competitive pricing, timely delivery, and compliance with company requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Procure chemical raw materials, solvents, packaging materials, and general consumables as per production requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop new vendors and suppliers.
• Obtain quotations from multiple suppliers and compare prices, quality, and delivery timelines.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, and delivery schedules with vendors.
• Prepare and issue purchase orders (POs) and follow up on pending orders.
• Coordinate with Production, Stores, QC/QA, and Accounts departments for smooth procurement operations.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to avoid production delays.
• Collect and maintain relevant documents, including invoices, delivery challans, Certificates of Analysis (COA), and Safety Data Sheets (SDS/MSDS), wherever applicable.
• Maintain vendor databases, purchase records, and procurement reports.
• Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the Stores Department to ensure material availability.
• Resolve vendor-related issues concerning pricing, quality, quantity, and delayed deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement procedures and applicable chemical-handling requirements.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Graduate in any discipline; a qualification in Chemistry, Commerce, or Supply Chain Management is preferred.
• 1–3 years of experience in purchase or procurement, preferably in a manufacturing company.
• Experience in purchasing chemical raw materials and industrial consumables will be an advantage.
• Good negotiation, communication, and vendor management skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and MS Office.
• Knowledge of ERP or purchase management software is preferred.
• Strong coordination, follow-up, and documentation skills.
