Purchase Executive (Technical Buying)

Key Responsibilities

• Handle technical purchasing and procurement of engineering and manufacturing-related materials, components, machines, tools and equipment.
• Identify and evaluate suitable suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery and technical requirements.
• Review technical specifications, drawings, BOMs and purchase requirements before placing orders.
• Prepare RFQs, compare quotations and negotiate with suppliers for best commercial terms.
• Coordinate with Engineering, Production, Maintenance, R&D and Quality teams to understand technical requirements.
• Generate and process Purchase Orders (POs) and ensure timely delivery of materials.
• Develop and maintain a reliable supplier base for technical and engineering requirements.
• Follow up with suppliers regarding delivery schedules, quality issues and pending orders.
• Support supplier development, cost reduction and alternate-source development activities.
• Maintain purchase records, vendor documentation and procurement-related data in the ERP system.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company procedures and quality requirements.

Required Skills & Experience

• 3–4 years of experience in Technical Buying / Technical Procurement.
• Experience must be from Manufacturing, Engineering, R&D, Machinery, Automotive or similar technical industry.
• Strong understanding of engineering components, machines, tools and technical materials.
• Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, specifications and technical requirements.
• Hands-on experience with any ERP system such as SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc.
• Good vendor management, negotiation and communication skills.
• Good coordination skills with internal technical and manufacturing departments.
• Strong follow-up and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Candidate Profile

• Diploma / Degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
• Candidates with experience in technical procurement rather than general/non-technical purchasing will be preferred.
• Candidates who have worked with machinery, engineering components, production equipment or manufacturing-related purchases will be highly preferred.

Pay: ₹600,000.00 - ₹700,000.00 per year
