About the role

We are seeking an experienced Purchase Ledger Officer with a proven track record of managing a high-volume purchase ledger and processing large volumes of invoices and transactional data.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the purchase ledger and acting as the escalation point for queries from colleagues and suppliers relating to invoices and payments.

Key responsibilities will include overseeing the weekly supplier BACS payment run, coordinating with internal stakeholders, external suppliers and bank signatories to ensure payments are processed accurately and on time. You will also be responsible for managing workflow, allocating and prioritising tasks, and producing weekly KPIs for senior management. In addition, you will monitor aged creditor reports and supplier reconciliations to ensure the purchase ledger is accurate and maintained to a high standard.

You will be a proactive and solutions-focused individual, able to demonstrate strong problem-solving skills and work effectively to tight deadlines. Excellent communication, organisational and prioritisation skills are essential for this role.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual looking for a new challenge in a fast-paced environment. As part of the recruitment process, you will need to demonstrate that you are a strong team player who can work independently, use your own initiative and manage competing demands effectively.

Our benefits

In meeting your performance expectations, you’ll receive an annual salary increase in line with the grade of your role. An annual cost of living uplift will be applied, the timing and implementation of which are subject to the University’s decision. AUB provides generous holiday entitlement, and you will be enrolled in the Local Government Pension Scheme (professional services staff) or the Teachers’ Pension Scheme (academic staff) from day one of employment. Along with subsidised bus travel, cycle to work and annual savings schemes, our broad range of benefits can be explored on the AUB careers website https://aub.ac.uk/working-at-aub .

AUB has an agile working policy, and flexible working can be considered. If you require support with your application or have any questions about the role or recruitment process, please email [email protected] . If you are disabled, we are committed to supporting you with any reasonable adjustments you require, so please email [email protected] and we’ll be in touch.

Visa Sponsorship

This position does not meet the UKVI salary requirements for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must therefore demonstrate their right to work in the UK without sponsorship.
