Purchase Manager

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Purchase Manager – Civil to manage procurement activities for construction projects. The role involves sourcing civil construction materials, negotiating with suppliers, ensuring timely deliveries, controlling costs, and maintaining quality and compliance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of civil construction materials such as cement, steel, aggregates, sand, blocks, bricks, RMC, admixtures, tiles, plumbing materials, and other project requirements.
• Identify, evaluate, and develop reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Obtain and compare quotations, negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions.
• Prepare and process purchase orders in accordance with approved requirements.
• Coordinate with the Projects, Civil, Planning, Stores, QS, and Accounts teams to understand material requirements.
• Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials as per project schedules.
• Monitor material prices, market trends, availability, and supplier performance.
• Verify material specifications and ensure procurement is as per approved drawings, BOQ, specifications, and quality standards.
• Maintain proper records of quotations, purchase orders, supplier documents, invoices, and delivery details.
• Resolve issues related to material shortages, delays, quality, pricing, and vendor performance.
• Develop alternate sources for critical and high-value materials.
• Monitor purchase budgets and identify opportunities for cost savings.
• Coordinate with the Stores and Site teams for material receipt and inspection.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies and approval procedures.
• Prepare regular procurement status reports for management.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree/Diploma in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Supply Chain, or a related field.
• 5–10 years of relevant experience in procurement/purchase, preferably in the construction or infrastructure sector.
• Strong knowledge of civil construction materials, suppliers, and local markets.
• Good negotiation, vendor-management, communication, and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and procurement/ERP software.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict delivery timelines.

Pay: ₹15,000.00 - ₹70,000.00 per month
