Purchase Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and manage procurement of food raw materials, ingredients, additives, and packaging materials.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard approved suppliers in line with quality and food safety standards.
• Ensure uninterrupted availability of materials to meet production schedules.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers
• Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations in coordination with QA
• Ensure suppliers comply with FSSAI, GMP, ISO 22000, HACCP and company standards
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, credit terms, and delivery schedules
• achieve cost optimization without compromising quality or food safety
• Track price trends of commodities and manage cost impact
• Prepare and control purchase budgets and MIS reports
• Ensure procurement of materials as per approved specifications
• Coordinate with QA/QC for raw material approvals, COAs, and rejections
• Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance related to food materials
• Support internal and external audits (FSSAI, ISO, customer audits)
• Monitor inventory levels to avoid shortages, overstocking, or expiry losses
• Implement FIFO / FEFO practices for food and packaging materials
• Coordinate with Stores and Production for inventory planning
• Ensure timely release of purchase orders and follow-up on deliveries
• Maintain proper purchase records, contracts, and supplier documentation
• Improve procurement processes and systems (ERP, SAP, etc.)
• Work closely with Production, R&D, QA, Finance, and Stores teams
• Support new product development by sourcing new ingredients and packaging
• Handle emergency purchases and supply chain disruptions

Qualifications

• Graduate / Postgraduate in Supply Chain, Materials Management, Commerce, or Food Technology
• Professional certification in procurement/supply chain is an advantage

Experience

• 10-18 years of experience in purchase/procurement, preferably in the food manufacturing industry

Pay: ₹1,200,000.00 - ₹1,400,000.00 per year
