Purchase Manager

Role & responsibilities

1. Manage RM & PM procurement as per production requirements.
2. Plan purchases based on production, stock & consumption.
3. Source, develop & manage reliable vendors.
4. Negotiate price, quality, MOQ, payment & delivery terms.
5. Ensure timely material availability without production stoppage.
6. Manage all packaging materials including films, cartons, labels, sleeves & corrugated boxes.
7. Coordinate with Production, Stores, Quality & Finance for requirements.
8. Monitor supplier quality, delivery, rejection & claims.
9. Develop alternate suppliers for critical materials.
10. Control purchase cost, inventory, excess & slow-moving stock.
11. Maintain POs, quotations, comparisons & purchase records.
12. Monitor vendor performance and market prices.

Preferred candidate profile

1. 4-5 years FMCG Purchase experience is mandatory.
2. Strong experience in RM & PM Purchase.
3. Experience in food/FMCG manufacturing preferred.
4. Vendor development, negotiation & cost control.
5. Good knowledge of inventory, purchase planning and supplier management.
6. Strong follow-up and coordination with Production, Stores & Quality.
7. Good knowledge of MS Excel & ERP.
8. Ability to ensure timely material availability and cost-effective purchasing.
