Role & responsibilities

• Handle day-to-day procurement of construction materials, equipment, and other project-related requirements.
• Source suitable vendors and suppliers, obtain quotations, and compare prices, quality and delivery timelines.
• Negotiate rates, payment terms and delivery schedules to ensure cost-effective procurement.
• Prepare and process purchase orders (POs) after obtaining the necessary approvals.
• Coordinate with project sites, stores, accounts and other departments to ensure timely material availability.
• Follow up with vendors regarding order status, dispatches, deliveries and pending supplies.
• Maintain vendor databases, purchase records, quotation comparisons and procurement documentation.
• Verify purchase requisitions against project requirements and approved budgets.
• Monitor material delivery schedules and resolve procurement-related issues.
• Assist in vendor evaluation, rate finalisation and development of new suppliers.
• Prepare purchase reports and maintain proper records using Excel/ERP systems.

Preferred candidate profile

• Graduate in any discipline; a degree or diploma in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or Supply Chain Management will be an advantage.
• 2-7 years of experience in purchase/procurement, preferably in the construction/ Real estate industry.
• Knowledge of construction materials such as cement, steel, aggregates, sand, electrical and plumbing materials, and other civil materials.
• Experience in vendor management, quotation comparison, rate negotiation and purchase order processing.
• Proficiency in MS Excel and working knowledge of Tally/ERP or other procurement software.
• Good communication, negotiation, coordination and follow-up skills.
• Ability to manage multiple purchase requirements and meet project deadlines.
