Purchase - Vendor Development

Role & responsibilities :-

• Develop and onboard suppliers for EV powertrain components, castings, forgings, machined parts, and structural components.
• Drive localization and import substitution initiatives.
• Lead supplier development activities including APQP, PPAP, process validation, and audits.
• Evaluate supplier manufacturing capabilities, quality systems, and technical feasibility.
• Coordinate with Design, Quality, Manufacturing, and Sourcing teams for new product launches and SOP readiness.
• Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.

Required Skills:

• Experience in Casting, Forging, Machining, and EV component manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans, SPC, MSA, and IATF 16949.
• Proficiency in GD&T, technical drawing interpretation, and problem-solving tools (8D, Why-Why).
• Good project management, supplier management, and cross-functional coordination skills.
• Working knowledge of SAP/ERP, Advanced Excel, and quality tools.

KPI Focus: Supplier Quality (PPM), Localization, PPAP Timeliness, Audit Scores, and Supply Risk Mitigation.

Preferred candidate profile :-

• Experience in automotive Tier-1 / EV component manufacturing industry
• Hands-on exposure to new product development projects
• Prior experience handling aluminium die casting and precision machining suppliers
• Exposure to motor housing / gearbox / shaft / rotor-stator components preferred
