Purchaser - Appliances

Work Schedule: Monday–Saturday

About the role

We are looking for a Purchaser with experience in appliances, consumer electronics, retail, distribution, or related industries to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for sourcing and purchasing appliances, spare parts, accessories, and other products required by the company. The role will work closely with suppliers, Sales, Warehouse, Accounting, Logistics, and Service teams to ensure the right products are purchased at the right price, quality, and time.

Key responsibilities:

Purchasing & Procurement

• Source and canvass appliances, spare parts, accessories, and other required products.
• Request and compare quotations from different suppliers.
• Prepare and process Purchase Orders (POs) and related purchasing documents.
• Negotiate prices, discounts, payment terms, warranties, and delivery schedules.
• Monitor purchase orders from order placement until delivery.
• Ensure availability of fast-moving and high-demand appliance models.
• Coordinate purchasing requirements based on inventory levels and sales demand.

Supplier Management

• Develop and maintain good relationships with suppliers, distributors, and manufacturers.
• Evaluate suppliers based on price, quality, delivery performance, warranty, and service.
• Negotiate for competitive pricing and better commercial terms.
• Follow up delayed orders and resolve supplier-related issues.
• Coordinate replacement or return of defective, damaged, or incorrect items

Inventory & Product Coordination

• Monitor inventory levels and identify products requiring replenishment.
• Coordinate with Warehouse and Sales regarding stock requirements.
• Assist in forecasting appliance demand based on sales movement and seasonality.
• Monitor slow-moving and fast-moving products.
• Ensure availability of critical spare parts and accessories for the Service Department.

Quality & Documentation

• Check product specifications, pricing, warranty terms, and supplier documentation.
• Coordinate with suppliers regarding defective or non-conforming products.
• Ensure product manuals, warranty documents, specifications, and other required documents are complete.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier price lists, and PO files.

Reporting

• Prepare regular purchasing and supplier performance reports.
• Monitor purchase costs and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Track outstanding POs and expected delivery dates.
• Provide management with updates on pricing, availability, supplier issues, and market conditions.

About you

• Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Purchasing, or a related field.
• At least 2 years of purchasing/procurement experience.
• Experience in appliances, consumer electronics, retail, distribution, or trading is strongly preferred.
• Experience dealing directly with suppliers and manufacturers.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Good knowledge of purchasing and inventory procedures.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple suppliers and purchase orders.
• Able to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Preferred:

• Experience purchasing refrigerators, washing machines, air conditioners, televisions, kitchen appliances, small appliances, or related products.
• Experience with ERP, inventory, or purchasing systems.
• Experience handling local and/or international suppliers.
• Knowledge of appliance spare parts and after-sales requirements.
