Job Overview

We are looking for an experienced Purchaser with strong knowledge of civil construction procurement. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience purchasing construction materials, dealing with suppliers, negotiating rates, and ensuring timely availability of materials according to project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage procurement of civil construction materials according to project and site requirements.
• Source and evaluate reliable suppliers and vendors.
• Obtain and compare quotations to ensure competitive pricing.
• Negotiate prices, payment terms, delivery schedules, and other commercial conditions.
• Purchase materials such as cement, steel, sand, crush, bricks, blocks, concrete materials, plumbing materials, electrical items, hardware, and other construction-related supplies.
• Coordinate with project managers, site engineers, store staff, and contractors regarding material requirements.
• Ensure timely delivery of materials to construction sites.
• Monitor material orders, deliveries, and purchase records.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Verify material quality and quantity before delivery/acceptance.
• Track market rates and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Handle purchase orders, quotations, invoices, and other procurement documentation.
• Ensure procurement is completed according to project specifications and company requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Purchaser/Procurement Officer in a civil construction company.
• Strong practical knowledge of construction materials and procurement processes.
• Good knowledge of local suppliers, vendors, and construction material markets.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to compare rates, negotiate prices, and control procurement costs.
• Ability to understand material requirements from drawings, BOQs, or site requirements.
• Strong coordination and follow-up skills.
• Proficient in maintaining purchase and supplier records.
• Must be responsible, proactive, and capable of working under project deadlines.

Preferred

Candidates with experience in building construction projects, government projects, and large-scale civil construction procurement will be preferred.
