About the role

We are seeking an experienced Purchaser to join Yan Wholesale Sdn Bhd in Johor Bahru, Johor. This is a full-time position that plays a critical role in our supply chain operations. As a Purchaser, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and procuring goods and services that meet our operational requirements whilst maintaining cost efficiency and quality standards. This role is essential to ensuring that our manufacturing and logistics operations run smoothly and that we maintain strong relationships with our supplier network.

Key responsibilities

• Source and identify potential suppliers, conducting market research to find competitive pricing and quality products
• Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to achieve optimal pricing, delivery schedules and payment conditions
• Process purchase orders accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring all documentation is complete and compliant
• Monitor supplier performance, quality standards and delivery schedules to ensure compliance with company requirements
• Manage inventory levels by coordinating with warehouse and operations teams to forecast purchasing needs
• Maintain detailed records of all procurement transactions, supplier agreements and purchase history
• Liaise between suppliers and internal departments to resolve any issues related to order fulfilment, quality or delivery
• Identify cost-saving opportunities and contribute to continuous improvement of the procurement process
• Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulatory requirements in all purchasing activities

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Purchaser, preferably within the manufacturing, wholesale sectors
• Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to build and maintain positive supplier relationships
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with procurement or inventory management software systems
• Knowledge of supply chain principles, procurement processes and best practices within the industry
• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple purchase orders simultaneously
• Attention to detail and accuracy in processing purchasing documentation and data entry
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• A commitment to cost control and achieving value for money in all procurement activities
• Problem-solving ability and proactive approach to identifying and resolving supply chain challenges
• Preferably, experience with vendor management systems (VMS) and exposure to import/export procedures would be advantageous
