About the role

Ray Tech (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is seeking an experienced Purchaser to join our procurement team on a full-time basis in Johor Bahru District, Johor. This is a strategic position within our X-Ray Machine Manufacturing, Transport & Logistics operations, where you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and managing supplier relationships to ensure the timely and cost-effective procurement of materials and services. As a Purchaser with experience, you will play a crucial role in optimizing our supply chain and supporting our operational objectives.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, evaluate, and select appropriate suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and service criteria
• Negotiate contracts and pricing terms with vendors to achieve optimal value for the company
• Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and procedures
• Monitor supplier performance and maintain strong working relationships with key vendors
• Track inventory levels and coordinate with operations teams to ensure adequate stock availability
• Conduct market research to identify emerging suppliers and cost-saving opportunities
• Resolve procurement-related issues, including delivery delays, quality concerns, and discrepancies
• Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation for audit and compliance purposes
• Liaise with internal departments to understand procurement needs and timelines
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the procurement function

What we're looking for

• Minimum 3-5 years of proven purchasing or procurement experience in a manufacturing or logistics environment
• Experience in semiconductors/ manufacturing industry is a MUST
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes, supplier management, and inventory control systems
• Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills in English and/or Mandarin Chinese
• Ability to analyze supplier quotations and make cost-benefit assessments
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple purchase orders simultaneously
• Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in documentation and record-keeping
• Experience in supply chain optimization and cost reduction initiatives
• Familiarity with quality standards and compliance requirements within the manufacturing sector
• Proactive approach to problem-solving and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders
• Proficient in Malay, English and Mandarin is mandatory for good and efficiency communication within suppliers, sellers, production, and all internal stakeholders
