About the role

Hychem International Pty Ltd is a leading manufacturer of coatings and construction products for the Australian market. This role is responsible for sourcing critical goods for our Flooring and Infrastructure Teams. You'll be part of a small, experienced team and will have great organizational skills and the ability to operate in a high-volume environment. You will require a high level of competency, take responsibility for your work; prioritizing urgent tasks and have great problem-solving ability. You will partner with the operations, finance and administration teams to ensure the business has the materials in place to support safe and successful project delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Promptly placing purchase orders with suppliers in accordance with company processes
• Monitoring orders and following up with suppliers to ensure delivery commitments are met
• Receiving in stock in a timely manner
• Build strong supplier relationships
• Ensure supplier invoice accuracy
• Process international purchase orders for sea and air freight and follow up suppliers lead times
• Managing import and export documentation
• Provide sales and management team with shipment and delivery updates
• Liaising with freight forwarders and resolving shipment issues

About you

• Demonstrated Purchasing experience in a previous role
• Imports/exports experience an advantage
• Comfortable using Microsoft office and business computer systems
• Impeccable communication skills, both written and verbal
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• The ability to work autonomously and as a part of a team
• Good time management skills

What success looks like

• Purchase orders processed promptly and tracked to completion.
• International shipments processed, cleared and delivered accurately.
