Purchasing Agent - Buyer

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end procurement processes using advanced ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, or similar platforms.
• Source suppliers and evaluate vendor capabilities to ensure quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
• Negotiate contracts, pricing, delivery terms, and service agreements with vendors to secure optimal purchasing conditions.
• Maintain accurate inventory levels through effective inventory control and materials management strategies.
• Collaborate with logistics teams to coordinate shipping schedules, track shipments, and resolve supply chain issues promptly.
• Analyze Excel data and other spreadsheets to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve procurement efficiency.
• Support supply chain management initiatives by utilizing MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems and supply chain software solutions like SAP ERP or AS400.

Requirements

• Proven experience with SAP, SAP ERP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS or comparable ERP systems within a purchasing or materials management role.
• Strong knowledge of procurement processes including sourcing, vendor negotiation, contracts management, and inventory control.
• Familiarity with supply chain management principles such as logistics, inventory management, and demand planning.
• Proficiency in using spreadsheets (Excel) for data analysis and reporting purposes.
• Excellent communication skills for vendor relationship management and cross-departmental collaboration.
• Ability to perform direct negotiation procurement and sourcing activities effectively.
• Experience supporting purchasing management systems and understanding of e-commerce platforms is a plus.

Pay: From $65,000.00 per year
