Purchasing Agent

Aerospace Purchasing Agent: On site required (non-remote)

Davis Aircraft Products is a recognized leader in the aerospace industry, delivering precision components, assemblies, cargo restraints, and ground support products for commercial, defense, and aerospace applications.

We are seeking an experienced individual to join our team and manage the sourcing and purchasing of precision-machined aerospace components. This position will work closely with suppliers, Engineering, Quality, and Production to ensure machined parts meet our demanding requirements for quality, cost, and delivery.

Key Responsibilities

· Identify and develop relationships with qualified machining vendors.

· Solicit and evaluate requests for quote, compare supplier pricing and lead times, and negotiate favorable terms

· Review drawings, specifications, tolerances, material requirements, and quality requirements when obtaining supplier quotes.

· Place orders and monitor supplier lead times and delivery schedules to support production requirements.

· Work with suppliers to resolve quality and technical issues by coordinating with Engineering and Quality Depts.

· Track open orders and maintain accurate purchasing information in the ERP/MRP system.

· Help identify cost-reduction opportunities without compromising quality or delivery.

Desired Qualifications

· 3+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience, preferably in aerospace or precision manufacturing.

· Experience purchasing CNC-machined parts, precision components, or mechanical assemblies.

· Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, tolerances, materials, and specifications.

· Familiarity with aerospace quality requirements such as AS9100, NADCAP, AMS, and MIL-SPEC.

· Experience working with outside machine shops and other manufacturing suppliers.

· Strong negotiation, communication, organization, and follow-up skills.

· Ability to manage multiple suppliers and production priorities in a fast-paced environment.

· Experience with MRP/ERP systems such as JobBOSS, Pentagon, Oracle, or similar systems.

Ability to Commute: We are seeking a local candidate who is already established in the area. Relocation candidates will not be considered.
