Palm Beach Trim is seeking an experienced Purchasing Manager / Purchasing Agent to coordinate material purchasing for our architectural millwork and finish carpentry projects. The ideal candidate understands woodworking materials, works well with suppliers, and can manage multiple orders and project deadlines with accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Purchase lumber, moldings, doors, hardware, sheet goods, and other project materials.
• Review estimates, material takeoffs, specifications, and shop drawings to determine purchasing needs.
• Obtain and compare supplier quotes, negotiate pricing and terms, and prepare purchase orders.
• Track orders, lead times, backorders, and deliveries to keep projects on schedule.
• Coordinate with estimating, project management, warehouse, and field teams to confirm material requirements.
• Verify ordered materials meet project specifications and resolve shortages, damaged shipments, and incorrect orders.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, supplier information, and order tracking in Excel and company systems.
• Monitor inventory and coordinate purchases to minimize waste and unnecessary stock.
• Review supplier invoices against purchase orders and coordinate discrepancies with accounting.

Required Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in the woodworking industry or a related trade, such as architectural millwork, cabinetry, finish carpentry, lumber supply, or building materials.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and CRM systems, including maintaining spreadsheets, tracking orders, and organizing supplier and project information.
• Working knowledge of wood species, moldings, sheet goods, doors, hardware, and common millwork materials.
• Ability to read and interpret material takeoffs, drawings, and specifications.
• Strong organizational, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate effectively with internal teams and vendors.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous purchasing or procurement experience within millwork, woodworking, or construction.
• Established relationships with lumber, millwork, and building material suppliers.
• Experience with purchasing, inventory, or construction accounting software.

Pay: $60,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
