Purchasing Agent

Overview

A Richmond Hill based electronics manufacturing service provider requires a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Agent to manage material supply for production servicing customers across a wide-range of industries.

Responsibilities

• · Place and manage material POs per production JOB or per forecast

· Track material orders to ensure on-time delivery

· Monitor, manage and provide options for resolution of material shortages as required

· Report on job material status to management and production

· Manage and resolve material discrepancies with suppliers

· Assist in material sourcing

· Reduce purchased material costs from quoted costs through alternate sourcing and negotiation

· Investigate impact of and report on material life-cycle changes

· Work with supply chain to determine alternates for unavailable or obsolete materials

· Monitor supplier performance based on on-time delivery, quality, responsiveness and price

· Manage logistics and shipping

· Manage inventory

· Assist in supply chain management

· Assist in evaluation and selection of MRP/ERP solution

· Other duties as assigned by Management

Qualifications

· 3+ years of purchasing, material planning, supply chain, or materials management experience

· SCMP, CPIM, CSCP, or related supply chain/procurement education or certification is an asset

· Experience purchasing mechanical, electrical, electronic, fabricated, machined, or custom-manufactured components

· Experience with inventory control, cycle counts, BOMs, reorder points, safety stock, and production planning

· Familiarity with procurement concepts, best practices, and purchasing procedures.

· Familiarity with ISO, quality documentation, regulated manufacturing, or medical device environments

· Experience working with ERP, MRP, inventory, or manufacturing software

· Able to negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery commitments with suppliers

· Understanding of logistics methods and import/customs procedures.

in standard MS Office software with advanced level competency in Excel

Pay: $50,000.00-$60,000.00 per year
