We are W. Silver Recycling, Inc. a premier bi-national metal recycling corporation, processing hundreds of thousands of tons of ferrous and non-ferrous metals across the US Southwest and Mexico. Operating at this massive scale requires highly specialized, heavy-duty machinery running at peak efficiency. We are looking for a strategic, technical MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Operations) Purchasing Agent to join our El Paso headquarters and ensure our facilities have the critical components and supplies they need to eliminate downtime.

The Role

As our MRO Purchasing Agent, you will be the logistical backbone of our maintenance and engineering teams. You will not be buying standard office supplies; your focus will be on the heavy industrial components that keep our recycling plants alive. We are seeking a professional steeped in the maquiladora or heavy manufacturing environment—someone who understands the urgency of sourcing a specialized hydraulic valve for a heavy-ton baler press or securing undercarriage components and grapples for a fleet of scrap material handlers and excavators.

Core Responsibilities

• Mobile Equipment Procurement: Source critical replacement parts for a large fleet of heavy-duty material handlers, excavators, and wheel loaders. This includes procuring specialized attachments (orange peel grapples, lifting magnets), undercarriage components (tracks, rollers, sprockets), boom and stick pivot pins, and cab controls.
• Heavy Machinery Sourcing: Procure wear parts and maintenance supplies for stationary industrial equipment, including massive metal shears, shredders, and baling presses.
• Hydraulics & Fluids Management: Source complex hydraulic system components (pumps, cylinders, high-pressure hoses, directional valves) and manage the bulk purchasing of industrial fluids, heavy-duty lubricants, coolants, and hydraulic oils required for continuous operation.
• Automotive & Engine Components: Purchase parts, filters, and maintenance items for heavy-duty diesel engines that power both our mobile excavators and stationary power units, as well as parts for standard commercial fleet vehicles.
• Cross-Border Vendor Relations: Identify, negotiate with, and manage suppliers across the US and Mexico. Leverage the robust maquiladora industrial base in the ELP/JRZ region to find localized, fast-turnaround machining, cylinder rebuilding, and fabrication partners.
• Downtime Mitigation: Work closely with Plant Managers and Mobile Equipment Mechanics to forecast critical wear-parts and maintain optimized minimum/maximum inventory levels for vital components.

Required Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of purchasing or supply chain experience preferably within heavy equipment fleets, mining, construction, maquiladora operations, or industrial recycling environments.
• Language Skills: Fully bilingual (English and Spanish) with the ability to negotiate contracts and communicate technical specifications fluently in both languages.
• Systems: Proficiency with modern ERP and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) software to track inventory, generate POs, and analyze fleet maintenance data.
• Soft Skills: High-pressure problem solver. When a critical material handler goes down holding up a loading operation, you are the person who can source the replacement part and expedite shipping to get the yard back online.

Pay: $58,000.00 - $68,000.00 per year
