Purchasing Assistant

Pay: $43,000–$50,000 per year

Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

Location: 875 E Bank Street, Petersburg, VA

Mohenis Services, Inc. is hiring an entry-level Purchasing Assistant in Petersburg, VA to make sure the products, materials, and supplies our operations depend on get ordered correctly and show up on time. We're the family-owned company behind Virginia Linen Service, Tarheel Linen Service, and our other regional linen and uniform rental brands, serving customers since 1934. No purchasing experience required. We'll train you.

What You'll Do

• Create and process purchase orders, and keep purchasing records and company systems accurate and up to date
• Order products, materials, and supplies based on what production, sales, and other departments need
• Work with vendors, suppliers, and shipping carriers on quotes, pricing, and delivery dates so orders arrive on time
• Check deliveries for quantity and condition, and follow up with vendors on late, damaged, or incorrect orders
• Track supplier performance and help prepare pricing comparisons, purchasing terms, and related paperwork

What You Need

• High school diploma or GED
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Strong organization and attention to detail, with the ability to juggle several orders and deadlines and communicate clearly with vendors and coworkers
