Purchasing Assistant

About the role

We are looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to support our distribution and supply chain operations. The successful candidate will assist in monitoring sales demand, planning stock replenishment, coordinating inventory availability, and ensuring smooth product distribution to meet customer and outlet requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in preparing sales demand forecasts based on historical sales data, order trends, stock movement, and outlet requirements
• Monitor stock levels, identify fast-moving and slow-moving products, and highlight potential stock shortages or excess inventory
• Assist in planning stock replenishment and coordinating purchase orders to ensure sufficient stock availability for customer orders
• Compile and analyse sales reports, customer orders, and product movement to support demand planning and operational decisions
• Work closely with the sales, purchasing, warehouse, and logistics teams to ensure timely stock allocation, order fulfilment, and delivery arrangements
• Monitor order fulfilment status and coordinate with relevant departments to address stock shortages, urgent orders, and delivery issues
• Prepare and maintain inventory reports, demand forecasts, stock records, and other related documentation using Microsoft Excel and internal systems
• Assist in identifying discrepancies between forecasted demand, actual sales, and inventory levels, and recommend improvements where necessary

About you

• Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field is an advantage
• Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Candidates with experience in demand planning, inventory control, purchasing, or distribution operations will have an added advantage
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including data compilation, sorting, filtering, and basic formulas
• Detail-oriented, organised, responsible, and able to manage multiple tasks
• Willing to learn, take initiative, and work in a fast-paced distribution environment
