Purchasing Assistant (Construction)

We are seeking a Purchasing Assistant – Construction to join The Moment Group in Makati City, Metro Manila on a full-time basis. This role will support the purchasing team in sourcing and purchasing construction materials, coordinating with suppliers, and ensuring that materials are delivered on time. The ideal candidate should have at least 1 year of experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably handling construction materials, and should be familiar with basic purchasing processes, supplier coordination, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities

1. Assist in processing purchase requisitions (PRs) and purchase orders for construction materials, equipment, and supplies.
2. Coordinate with suppliers to request quotations, prices, product availability, and delivery schedules.
3. Compare supplier quotations and assist in identifying the most suitable supplier based on price, quality, and delivery timeline.
4. Follow up with suppliers regarding pending quotations, purchase orders, and deliveries.
5. Maintain and organize purchasing records, including purchase orders, quotations, invoices, and supplier information.
6. Coordinate with internal departments regarding their material requirements and purchasing requests.
7. Monitor delivery schedules and ensure that materials are delivered according to the required timeline.
8. Assist in checking delivered materials against purchase orders and requested specifications.
9. Assist in maintaining records of construction materials and supplies.
10. Support the purchasing team with reports, documentation, and other administrative tasks related to procurement.

What We're Looking For

1. Graduate of Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
2. At least 1 year of relevant experience in purchasing or procurement, preferably handling construction materials and supplies.
3. Experience as a Purchasing Assistant, Procurement Assistant, Purchasing Coordinator, or similar role is an advantage.
4. Basic knowledge of construction materials, such as cement, steel, pipes, hardware, finishing materials, and other construction supplies.
5. Experience in requesting and comparing supplier quotations and coordinating with vendors.
6. Familiarity with Purchase Requisitions (PR), Purchase Orders (PO), quotations, and basic procurement processes.
7. Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel; experience with purchasing or inventory systems is an advantage.
8. Good communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with suppliers and internal teams.
9. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple purchasing requests.
10. Detail-oriented and able to accurately check quotations, documents, quantities, prices, and delivery schedules.
11. Willing to learn and work collaboratively with the purchasing and other internal teams.
