Purchasing Assistant, West

About the role

We are seeking a Purchasing Assistant, West to join Sin Hong Hardware Pte Ltd on a full-time basis. This role is based in the West Region and offers an excellent opportunity to develop your procurement and inventory management skills within a dynamic manufacturing, transport and logistics environment. As a Purchasing Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting our procurement operations, ensuring efficient sourcing, ordering and inventory control to meet the company's operational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Processing purchase orders and maintaining accurate records of all procurement transactions
• Liaising with suppliers to obtain quotations, negotiate terms and ensure timely delivery of goods
• Monitoring inventory levels and flagging stock shortages to ensure adequate supplies are maintained
• Verifying received goods against purchase orders and delivery documentation
• Maintaining supplier databases and updating contact information as required
• Assisting with inventory audits and stock reconciliation activities
• Preparing purchasing reports and documentation for senior management review
• Supporting the purchasing team with administrative tasks and special projects as needed

What we're looking for

• Relevant qualification in procurement, supply chain management, business administration or related field
• Proven experience in a purchasing or procurement support role, preferably within trading, manufacturing or logistics sectors
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Word
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with suppliers and internal stakeholders
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping
• Basic understanding of inventory management principles and procurement processes
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Knowledge of ERP systems or procurement software is desirable but not essential
