Purchasing Associate - Inventory Planning

About the role

Support daily inventory planning operations through purchase order creation, proforma invoice review, order management, and vendor coordination. Work closely with Logistics, Account Management, Accounting, Warehouse, and Vendors to ensure Purchase Orders remain on track and ship according to committed dates. This role requires strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Create and fully execute Purchase Orders from approved Purchase Requisitions.
• Review and approve Proforma Invoices for contract and customer orders.
• Manage HomeGoods, TJ Maxx, Water Works, and other assigned customer purchase orders from creation through shipment.
• Coordinate with Logistics, Account Management, Accounting, Warehouse teams, and Vendors to ensure orders ship according to agreed timelines.
• Monitor open orders and proactively communicate delays or supply issues to appropriate stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate order and shipment information within SAP.
• Perform data entry, reporting, and other administrative tasks as needed.
• Provide support across HVL, Mitzi, Troy, Corbett, Schoolhouse, and Sonneman brands as required.
• Assist with special projects and other inventory planning activities as assigned.

About you

• 2+ years of experience in inventory planning, purchasing, logistics, supply chain, warehouse operations, or a related field.
• Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including sorting, filtering, VLOOKUP, and basic data analysis.
• Experience working within an ERP system (SAP preferred).
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prioritize competing demands and work independently.
• Experience coordinating with vendors and cross-functional teams preferred.
